Hydrated Lime
Governing Standard: IS 1540(Part 2):1990 (Reaffirmed in 1996)
Product Description: The material shall essentially be Hydrated Lime [Ca(OH)2]; Grade C-Suitable for Water Treatment
Product Use: To be used for water treatment and is based on its property of forming flocculant precipitates which are capable of coagulating and to raise the pH of water.
Product requirements:
Physical Properties: The material, as received shall be in the form of free flowing powder without lumps; substantially free from ash, dirt and core.
Moisture Content: The moisture content shall be 0.5 to 0.8 percent by mass, when tested in accordance with the provision of APPENDIX A of IS1540 (Part I): 1980[Clause 4.2]
